Fall is finally here! That means it is time to break out the cozy sweaters, warm pants, and all the fun fall elementary activities for your classroom. One of the best things about the seasons changing is you can break out some “new” things in your classroom. Students love to see different things even if it’s just the clip art. Check out these six fun fall elementary activities you can use in your classroom tomorrow!
Fun Fall Elementary Activities
When you are getting ready for fall, you can practice all of the same skills you’ve been working on but add a fun fall twist. I like to always work with my students on their fine motor skills. Having paper with lines they need to cut on is a great way to get students to use these skills. When you add a fall element, elementary students get more excited. Plus, you can give them an opportunity to color!
Another fun fall activity that you do all year round is sequencing. Adding fall stories to your mix can help students make fun connections while practicing their sequencing skills.
Incorporating Fall Into Centers
Another great way to add some fall elementary activities into the classroom is to put them into your centers. Remember, when you do anything in centers, it should be something students are familiar with because centers are for enrichment and review! You can find my October Literacy Centers for Kindergarten which includes fun interactive activities that will last all year!
Incorporate Games Into Literacy Centers
Centers don’t have to be all serious. Sometimes having games in your centers can be a great way to have fun and learn! These Literacy Kindergarten Centers with Games are perfect for small groups. Not only does this helps students learn from each other, they learn good sportsmanship and other important character skills!
Use Simple Printables for Fall Elementary Activities
Sometimes we have students who get things done incredibly fast. When these activities are done well and students don’t have to redo them, it can be fun to have a printable fall activity for students to focus on. This Apple Printable has several activities that all revolve around apples! From counting to sorting, your students will be able to practice important skills with a fun fall feel.
Don’t Forget Fall Math!
Math is an important skill to have and we can’t leave it out of the fall fun! I like to use manipulatives in my classroom. One way I like to use manipulatives is with snap cubes. These fall themed snap cubes are a great way to let students see something different while still working on patterns and various math concepts. Not only is this great for hands-on math, it’s a wonderful fine motor skill your students will benefit from.
1, 2, 3 Fall Loves Me!
Another great fall elementary activity is a hands on number recognition activity. With the Counting and Number Fall Activities, your students will be getting hands-on math opportunities they might not always get! This activity helps with counting as well as letter recognition. Plus, students have more of an opportunity to use math manipulatives which can be so important.
Fun fall elementary activities are a great way to get students excited about a new season. Plus, all of these fall activities focus on important skills students can work on as a whole class, in a small group, or independently. In addition, the versatility of all of them can be used in a variety of ways in the classroom. So, grab your fall activities today and get into the fall spirit!
